Walter D. Peeples (1920-1926)

Walter Dent Peeples, son of Judge R.A. and Mrs. Peeples, was born in Valdosta, July 7, 1864, and married Louisa Winn Varnedoe. In his early years he was a clerk for the A.S. Pendleton Company and A. Converse Company. He was later associated with C.R. Pendleton as owner and manager of “The Valdosta Daily Times.” Peeples served as a deputy U.S. Marshall during the administration of President Grover Cleveland. He was a local agent for New York Life Insurance Company, which position he held at the time of his death, June 1, 1926.
