Amongst the Louie Peeples White Acquisitions is a collection of scarves and cocktail napkins designed by Frankie Welch. Frankie Welch was born in Rome, Georgia but lived in Washington, D.C. Louie White also lived in Washington, D.C. during the 1970’s when her husband Arthur White worked as a news correspondent for Time Magazine. It was during this period that Louie became acquainted with fellow Georgian Frankie Welch and collected her designs. The museum received 17 Frankie Welch items in 2010 after the Louie Peeples White estate sale. The museum also received many other items within this acquisition.
