Kentucky Rose (2000-24-01-Tb43a)

This Kentucky Rose pattern is appliquéd in green and red onto a white background fabric. The date May 25, 1860 and initials N.A.E.K. are quilted into the boarder. This quilt belonged to Erma Jordan of Brooks County, Ga and was passed down to her through the generations on her mother’s side of the family. Evidence suggests there may have been more than one stitcher who quilted this piece. This quilt is executed with much precision and is in excellent condition. It is being considered for an upcoming Civil War exhibit at the museum. Jordan Collection- Lowndes County Historical Museum
