Valdosta State line drawing

Conceptual line drawing of college campus in Valdosta.

An early architectural plan for the college campus. Variations of these plans, with different cropping, appear in the 1926 and 1933 college yearbooks. These plans show the grand intentions the college’s founders had for the school, which opened with only one building in 1913. This drawing includes the trolley which would take students to and from downtown to shops and the train stations. Valdosta was one of the smallest cities in America to have a trolley system.
