Archives

The museum’s exhibits are just the tip of the iceberg in regards to the information that is housed in our building.  The archives contain thousands of photographs, documents, and artifacts pertaining to historic businesses, residents, organizations, and societies of Valdosta and Lowndes County. This information has been invaluable to researchers and has assisted the authors of over 20 books. The archives are also free to the public, but better service may be had by calling a few days in advance for staff to have the requested materials available, and to ensure that your visit does not conflict with a museum function or other researchers.
