Military

The museum is honored to hold a collection of donated military uniforms belonging to men and women connected with Lowndes County who valiantly served our country in the line of service. All of the uniforms have been donated to the museum and do not necessarily represent the complete uniform or all the rankings and medals achieved by the individual, nor an entire listing of those who have served in our area.  Some of the uniform styles are the same. When this occurs, the specific uniform may not be pictured; however, the type of uniform will be cited. Because of the vast number of uniforms, only a very brief history of each is given. If further information is needed, please feel free to use our research facilities located within the museum.

In addition, other military items connected with textiles will be presented here such as flags, banners, and patches.

Some military uniforms and artifacts are on display currently at the museum. Please come visit us and get an up-close look at these items.

The museum appreciates the community donating these textiles so that we can continue to preserve these items and their history for future generations. The military textiles represent a large volume of work. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we prepare  to add more textiles to this site. Please check back with this site for updates.
