There is no cost to enter the museum. We are a private non profit organization, donations are welcome.

The Lowndes County Historical Museum is wheelchair friendly.  An elevator entrance is available on the east side of the building.  Please call the number on the ring box and someone will let you in.

From Interstate 75:

  • Take I-75 to Exit 16.
  • Take a left (from north or south) onto Hill Avenue (Highway 84) going east.
  • When coming into downtown Valdosta turn left onto Oak Street, going north.
  • Take a left onto Central Avenue, heading west, and the museum will be on the left side of the road in Carnegie Library building (the old red brick building).
  • Parking is available on the side street next to the museum, on the east side of the building, and in the parking lot on the right side of Central, across the street from the Museum.
