Double Bow Knot Coverlet (67-2Tb75)

Amongst other names this coverlet patttern is sometimes call the double bow knot. This particular coverlet was amongst the first acquisitions the Lowndes County Historical Society received and is from the Shawl Collection. This coverlet is made by Mrs. Jane Brooks. Her first husband Mr J. Smith had gone to fight in the Civil War. To keep herself from being lonely, she sheered the sheep herself with a little boy helping her hold the sheep, then spun the wool and wove the coverlet.
