By the 1970s Valdosta State University (then Valdosta State College) had begun to outgrow the original campus. At the bottom right is the construction of the Fine Arts Building and the bottom left of the photo show the clearing north of Sunset Hill Cemetery for the construction of a larger student parking lot and Education Building and the intersection of Oak and Baytree.
